The Founder’s Cup is given each year to the next club who will be hosting the BC Jamboree. For the next year it is a token of the rich history of the jamboree. As with the Kelly Cup, on its base records all the past host clubs and locations where the jamboree was held. During the BC Jamboree weekend, the Cup will be presented to its new host club representatives.
“The Founder’s Cup was created as a way to document the history of the ECHL Booster Club Jamborees. I know that myself and Henry Brabham had a vision and a plan for getting booster/fan clubs on the same page when the ECHL was established but it has grown and had longevity far beyond anything we could have expected. With the economy being tough I know some years attendance will be less than others but I honestly believe it is again headed back in the right direction. The cup was made in such a way that when the blank tags are filled another base can be set under the current one and it can add another twenty years or more from that addition. I also know that I will not always be around to share the history of this event and this cup will memorialize past events for people going forward to actually see where and when things began.”
